Actor Emeka Ike seems to have put behind him the pain of the recent loss of the Actors’ Guild of
Nigeria (AGN) leadership to Ibinabo Fiberesima.
Splendor magazine exclusively gathered that Emeka Ike was in the U.S sometimes back where he took the opportunity to complete his role in a Hollywood movie which he has been working on for a while now.Just as the saying goes, “a prophet has no honour in his town”, the climax of it all was that some white Americans who saw how well the Nollywood star acted during the shoot, began to rush him, jostling for his autographs.

Man jailed 45 years for stealing Gov Aregbesola’s N50k phone
A 31 year old named Kevin Ighodalo (pictured above), has been sentenced to 45 years imprisonment by an Osogbo High Court for stealing a Sony Ericsson phone said to be worth about N50,000 belonging to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State. Below is how Punch is reporting it
Ighodalo stole the phone from the pocket of Aregbesola on November 27, 2010, when the governor was being inaugurated at Government Technical College, Osogbo.
Justice Oyejide Falola, who heard the case, found Ighodalo guilty on six counts, which included conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
He was sentenced to 10-year imprisonment for the first three counts and five years for each of the last three which included impersonation, obtaining property by falsehood and collusion.

Questionmark boss, Kevin Luciano, emerges interim PMAN president
Lucciano was appointed after his opponent Mr Skid Ikemefuna stepped down. Popular 90's musician Mike Okri will serve as Lucciano's deputy. Okri defeated Oritz Wiliki for the post of PMAN deputy president. Singer Azeezat emerged as the new treasurer while Maureen also known as Mama Entertainment emerged as the second deputy president for the interim government.
As part of his plans for the union, Lucciano stated his desire to bring change to the union, a change that will hopefully attract younger musicians to the union. A new election will be held 18 months from now.
1.2million JAMB-UTME Candidates Won't Gain Admission - FG
The Federal Government on Saturday said of the 1,735,720 students that registered for this year's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, only 520,000 will gain admission.
Addressing journalists at the Federal Government College, Suleja, Niger State, after monitoring the examination, Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai, blamed this on the low-carrying capacity of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
FG grounds Governor Amaechi's private plane over expired permit
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) said the plane, which is Governor Rotimi Amaechi's private plane, has been operating illegally as it's clearance to operate expired since April 2, 2013.
"The controversial aircraft on the service of Governor Rotimi Amaechi is operating illegally in the country. The aircraft has its clearance approval expired since Tuesday, April 2, 2013, by our records the last flight clearance for this aircraft was approved for operations on Thursday March 28, 2013 on Accra/Port Harcourt and Accra to terminate on April 2, 2013.
"With this development, the aircraft has exceeded the extra two days or forty eight hours leeway for it to leave the country.

WAEC blacklists 113 schools over exams fraud
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has withdrawn recognition for 113 secondary schools nationwide, as punishment for examination malpractices. Also, results of 30, 654 candidates, who sat for the May/June 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have been cancelled. According to Saturday Sun findings, WAEC has also cancelled individual subject results of 83, 745 candidates, released the results of 1, 549 and barred for two years 3, 321 candidates from sitting for the council examination over misconduct during the school exam, in line with the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the examinations.

3 killed, 20 injured in Anambra accident today
The accident occurred when the truck loaded with palm kernel oil had break failure and crashed into five stationery vehicles parked at a bus park near Unizik Junction. Unfortunately, the driver of the truck and two passengers in a bus loading at the park died instantly. 20 people were seriously injured.

Last week Thursday a ghastly Motor Accident occurred along Owerri Port Harcourt express road after the Army Barracks in Obinze just a few meters after the entrance of Arab Contractors Nig Ltd, involving a Petrol Tanker and a bus carrying full load of passengers.
Three passengers died on the spot including the driver, two died later at the hospital. As if that was not enough on Friday a Sienna coming from Owerri and heading to Imo state Polytechnic Ohaji somersaulted severally on the same spot.
The car was seriously damaged but thankfully the three occupants came out alive. Tuesday, a man was caught on that same spot with charms doing what was best known to him in a language most people didn't understand. He was promptly surrounded by the youths of Ohaji and the man was taken to the Eze who handed him over to the police.

Luis Suarez banned for 10 matches by FA for biting Ivanovic
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has received a 10-game ban from the English FA for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a game on Sunday April 21st.
The FA released a statement today saying:
"A three-person independent regulatory commission today upheld the FA's claim that a suspension of three matches was clearly insufficient and the player will serve a further seven first-team matches in addition to the standard three.The suspension begins with immediate effect."Suarez has until Friday April 26th to appeal the suspension.
