Girl, 14, Snatched In Atlanta Break-In

Two men apparently entered the house through a back door around 2.15am on Tuesday and snatched Ayvani Hope Perez.

Officer Phong Nguyen said the two men had demanded money and jewellery from Ayvani's mother, who was at home with Ayvani and her teenage son, during the break-in.

When she said she did not have any, they kidnapped Ayvani.

One of the men shot and killed the family dog because it started barking, Officer Nguyen added.

Ayvani was last seen in a grey car - a Dodge Charger or Chevy Malibu - that the men left in in Ellenwood, Clayton County.

Officer Nguyen told Sky News he did not believe Ayvani knew the suspects and it appeared to be a "random act".

A court in Uganda sentenced a teen age girl to a six-hour jail term for killing her rapist father

It was probably one of the most unusual sentences delivered in the country, but the case was just as unusual as it was heartrending.

The Masaka High Court presided over by Lady Justice Margaret Oumo Oguli, Monday heard that 18-year-old girl killed her father on May 8, after he had raped her.

It was not the first time he was doing so. The 58-year-old man had been raping the daughter repeatedly from the time she was 13 years old.

Prosecution led by Peter Mugisha told court that the convict violently killed her father using a knife and a panga after the deceased performed sexual acts against her.

Mr Mugisha, however, asked court to give her a maximum sentence which requires death, saying the act she performed was illegal.

I Did Not Win This Election! PDP Candidate Refused To Accept Victory ... Says APC Won

A councilorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Shawo South West ward in Offa Local Government of Kwara State, Mr. Afolabi Olawole has rejected victory at the election. He was declared winner of the ward election by the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) in Saturday’s rerun election. He stated that he did not win in the election. According to him, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Adefioye Kayode won the election.

He stated that he rejected his announced victory based on his religious belief of not cheating. He added that his stand was also to ensure that his community did not witness violence and retrogression.

KWASIEC had announced that PDP won the ward. According to him, APC polled 1,213 to defeat PDP he said had 568.

Newborn Found In Neighbourhood Garbage Pile

Authorities are searching for the mother of a newborn baby boy who was found in a rubbish pile in New Jersey.

Hudson County prosecutors say the child was found on Saturday afternoon near Jersey City's McGinley Square neighbourhood.

The boy was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, the infant boy is said to be breathing on his own in hospital

Prosecutors did not disclose how long the child may have been outside.

Residents who live nearby said neighbourhood children alerted the building superintendent after they heard crying and saw movement in the garbage.

Rebecca Womers, the wife of the superintendent, told The Jersey Journal she found the infant stuffed inside a bag.

"I opened the bag from the bottom and it still had the umbilical cord attached," she told the newspaper.

Her husband, Arturo Rivas, said he usually asks children to leave the courtyard where the baby was found, but this time he was glad the youngsters were there.

"Thank God they were back there," he told the newspaper.
