Kendrick Lamar Leads 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards Nominations, Followed By Drake + Full List

Check out the full list of nominations for the upcoming 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

After claiming to be the King of New York on Big Sean’s “Control” and name-dropping a bunch of his colleagues, thus getting the rap world in a tizzy, he continues his domination with the upcoming BET Hip-Hop Awards.

The West Coast native leads the nominations this year with 14, among them, Lyricist of the Year, Album of the Year, MVP of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Video for “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.” Following the announcement, Kendrick said , “It’s a privilege to be a part of it. For the most part, BET always acknowledges my talent and I always hold that as an honor, so I’m blessed.”

Drake follows K. Dot with 13 nominations, and then J. Cole with 10 nominations.

Snoop Dogg is lined up to host this year’s event, which will be taped on September 28th at Atlanta’s Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center and the show premieres on October 15th at 8 p.m.

Oyo State Govt appoints Tillaman as Youth Musical Ambassador

On Monday, 12th of August 2013, the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi awarded pop artiste, Tillaman the ambassadorial title, Oyo State Youth Musical Ambassador, at the International Youth Day celebration organized by the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

The event which took place at the Cultural Centre in Ibadan and was attended in great numbers by the youth in the state, saw musical performances from artistes like Chuddy K and Konga who came to support Tillaman. Fuji artiste Obesere also got an award from the Oyo state government as well.

After Eight years of not having a child, wife of the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Port-Harcourt Rivers State, Evangelist (Dr) Nkechi Chinyere, gave birth to a baby girl.

Her conception and delivery by medical experts have been described as a miraculous one after she was diagnosed to be without a womb some years ago.

According to The Nation,  The baby arrived on Tuesday July, 23 around 10:10am in United States of America, and weighed 10 LBS, which was recorded as the heaviest baby of the day in the hospital.

The remains of Alhaji Ademola Fashola, the father of Lagos state governor, Raji Fashola, who died in the early hours of yesterday morning, was laid to rest this afternoon at the Vaults and Gardens Cemetery, Ikoyi, Lagos. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
